I'm heading up to BRC for my second Burning Man excursion, and I can't wait! I had an amazing time last year, partially because of the person I met on here who shared the ride there and back.

I've rented a small RV (23' Class B) again this year, and I'm picking it up in Costa Mesa sometime before noon on August 25th. Normally the RV has seats for three, and although I'm posting this ride for one, I may be open to negotiate. If you happen to be partnered up and plan on sharing resources, it might work to provide a ride for two. Or if you pack extremely light. I have to be mindful of the total weight of gear we're hauling and keep it under the maximum. The biggest weight add-on is usually container water. Less weight also means better gas mileage. Since I'm renting the RV, only I'll be driving so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride. Although I'm picking up in Costa Mesa, you don't have to live in Costa Mesa. If you're somewhere within LA or OC and in the general direction of travel, we can still connect.

I'm shipping most of my gear up with a friend in his much larger RV, so I'll only have the essentials with me. I plan to make a stop in Reno (sometime Sunday) to buy my water and food for the week.

I'm plan on staying the entire week through the Temple Burn Sunday night. The plan at this point is to hit the road and head back to Costa Mesa early Monday morning. How early (or late) depends on how long the drive to BRC took.

In the default world, I am an IT professional who works across a variety of industries and travels on a frequent basis. I love my career and the work (and even the stress) that comes with it, but often it is the antithesis of the burner community. I try to leave that all behind me for the week at Burning Man.

As far as my ideal traveling companion goes... I definitely prefer (ok, require) easy-going, respectful, courteous, responsible, and above all, open minded individuals.

I would prefer non-smokers. Smoking in the RV isn't allowed.
Good hygiene is a must and non-negotiable.
Male travelers preferred.
I'm in my early 30's, so someone +/- 10 years is preferred.

So if you've read this far and you're probably wondering why the ride price is so low, it's because this is a gift or a "pay what you value for the ride" situation. If you know burners, you know about gifting. I'm going regardless, so what I get out of this is meeting a new friend to make the drive there more enjoyable. If you want to throw in some cash for gas or food it's your choice, but not expected.
